The High School Fall Golf season came to an end for the Panthers on Sept. 19-20, 2025 with the Lady Panthers taking the fourth-place trophy. Three competitors from Powell High School (PHS) earned All-State honors, and for some, it wasn’t the first time.

“I think the growth of the girls was good and there was a ton of it,” senior Coy Erickson said. “Maddie and Ali are still young and still have little things that they can work on, but they both grew a ton within the six weeks we had together.”

Erickson was one of the two Lady Panthers who earned All-State recognition, including junior Emery Hernandez.

“I was able to stay somewhat consistent with my score over each tournament I was playing in,” Erickson said. “I was proud of myself for being able to get sixth at conference and tie for ninth at state.”

Besides the two girls, junior Cody Fisher was the sole boys golfer to earn an All-State award.

“I was happy with my team’s growth throughout the year,” Fisher said. “And I was [happy] with both teams’ outcome and my own outcome at state.”

Fisher led the Panthers in scoring both days, putting up a score of 76 strokes on day one and following up with 83 strokes on day two.

“I feel as if I should have done better,” Fisher said. “We could have placed a little higher as a team if I went lower on day two, but I was still happy with my performance.”

The boys’ team was able to put together a team score of 695 over the weekend, landing them in eighth place.

“I was very pleased with the outcomes from State,” golf head coach Troy Hildebrand said. “The boys posted their best team scores of the year, other than at our own course and each player came through with scores that were either their personal best or very close to those scores.”

The Panthers will return many of their golfers in the upcoming season, including Fisher and Hernandez. The Panthers graduate only three seniors.

“Getting three All-State players and the girls earning a trophy was a tremendous finish to our season,” Mr. Hildebrand said. “It was great to see us put together about as good of a weekend as we could have hoped for to close out the season.”
