Ben Smith, Prowl Reporter
Ben Smith is a PHS sophomore, cross-country runner, and obviously, a reporter for the PHS Prowl. Often referred to as “the kid who always wears shorts,” or for some reason, both his first and last name, Ben is sarcastic and, funny, but a slow learner in school because sometimes he has a hard time paying attention in class, due to his ADHD, especially in biology, which he differently won’t hesitate to tell you he sucks at.
Ben’s interests include Bigfoot, music, sunflower seeds, maps, snakes, Pinball, Monster Energy, skiing, New York City, Alaska, and California (especially Los Angeles and the Redwoods). He also plays The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Red Dead Redemption and loves watching the Hobbit movies on the couch with his cat Cooper. His Gollum impression is also among his few talents, along with running the mile (with a PR of 6:00.00) and playing Poker.
In his free time, Ben can be found coloring in maps of the United States, getting into trouble with his best friend Michael, digging through the recycling for Monster Energy cans for his collection, or finding sketchy loopholes in rules and school assignments.
“You can always do more than you think you can, Ben” cross country coach Mrs. Ashley Hildebrand said. “I tell the whole team that before every cross-country race.”
