Ag students attend national convention
More stories from Gracie McLain
The Powell-Shoshone FFA chapter officers traveled to Indianapolis Oct. 24-28 for the National FFA convention. During their trip they met people from all across the country and learned many helpful tips about other chapters.
While in Indianapolis the chapter officers president Bronson Smith, vice president Gracie McLain, secretary Mckennah Buck, treasurer Kathleen Bush, historian Caylee Kremer, reporter Kalli Ashby, parliamentarian Rylee Ramsey, sentinel Logan Mehling and their adviser Mr. Bryce Meyer attended two sessions along with many other fun activities.
Those who attended the second session agreed was the most impactful.
“It was amazing to see how much our national officer have impacted chapters across the country,” Buck said.
The retiring address of DeShawn Blanding, the 2016-17 southern region vice president from North Carolina, hit home for the Wyomingites. He shared how much Aaron Kersh, Wyoming FFA state parliamentarian, had impacted his life.
“This just really goes to show how much this organization impacts people’s lives all over the country,” Ashby added.
At the convention center there was also a huge trade show where people could go around and learn about colleges and businesses around the country involving agriculture. Organizers had live demonstrations; for example, one of the show supplies booths demonstrated how their product worked.

Great article! Great organization! Great kids! Great adviser! I personally know people in the town from Mr. Meyer and his family came. They were very sad to lose him. We are very fortunate to have someone who cares so much about the kids and programs they are involved with.
