Korbyn Warren runs in many circles, literally and figuratively. Those who don’t know him from track or other activities know him because of his outgoing personality.

Korbyn’s most highlighted accomplishments are those of his cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track careers. He’s been running since 7th grade and has made considerable progress improving his time.

“After I tried other sports, running was the first one that I was really good at,” Warren said. “Once I started really caring about running and caring about improving, I saw the excitement of winning, and it motivated me to work harder.”

Warren enjoys the thrill of running and the relationships he’s built with his teammates. He is looking forward to the next two full years of sports and the goals he hopes to reach.

“The school mile record is something I look forward to trying to compete for,” Warren said. “I also want to keep working my way up on the top 10 list for cross country.”

When he’s not at practice, you can find him picking out a tune on his guitar. Korbyn enjoys many types and forms of music, whether he’s listening to it or playing it.

“I started playing guitar a little over a year and a half ago when I was bored in the summer of 2022,” Warren said. “I got one of my dad’s guitars and found YouTube videos on how to play ‘Stayin Alive’ by The Bee Gees.”

Korbyn enjoys learning songs on the guitar, his favorite genre being classic rock. He easily memorizes the songs he learns, which means if there’s a guitar in the vicinity, Korbyn will be sure to serenade you.

Another thing that brings Korbyn joy is his car. Upon purchasing the car, a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix, he discovered that fellow sophomore Mason Coombs owned the same car. After a football game one night, Mason and Korbyn were ambushed by a classmate with a Nerf gun.

“So Mason said, ‘Hold on’, and he ran to his car and pulled out a bunch of Nerf guns from his trunk. So I was impressed by that,” Warren said. “And since we had the same car, I decided that I would get all my Nerf guns that I had and put them in the back of my car, too.”

The trunk is now outfitted into a full Nerf gun artillery. Together, Coombs and Warren have founded their own car and Nerf gun club.

“Sometimes it can be spontaneous,” Coombs said. “Just like ‘Yo, do you want to have a meeting tonight?’ Then we have a meeting. Play Nerf guns. Have fun.”

From sports to Nerf battles, Korbyn has a lust for life and shares it with those around him. Many people consider Korbyn as the life of the party, no matter where he’s at.

“I like working hard and winning,” Warren said. “I also like easy cheese on wheat thins. So yeah, my life is pretty good.”
