For many, the fall season means the start of school. For PHS, it means it’s time to take the field, court, and trail alike. The Panthers fall sports are coming to a near close, and success has come in different shapes and sizes for each program throughout the season.

For Panthers football, the wins haven’t exactly come as one would expect. Despite the scoreboard, the team works together to create impacts that will translate to the win column in due time.

“I think the team has done amazing this year, considering our numbers and our age,” senior Rowan Diaz said. “It’s hard to play against people who are bigger, stronger, and older than you and our younger crew has really stepped up.”

Thus far, the Panthers have a 0-7 record, but they have taken their hits in stride, while pushing forward through trials, and set their eyes on the future and the success that is to come.

“I believe as a senior I’ve made an impact in showing leadership and what it takes to play the game,” Diaz said. “I think that it will impact the future leaders and make them stronger as players and overall as a team.”

PHS Volleyball has risen to the occasion in this 2025 season with a current winning record of 16-13. The Lady Panthers continue to compete while having only one senior on the roster.

“I feel like the more the season goes on, the better we get,” junior Kaedenze Carter said. “The better we’re working as a team and improving.”

With the Regional Tournament around the corner (Oct. 31), the Lady Panthers prepare themselves for the end of the season.

“[The team] has impacted me because I’ve made so many friends and the people in the sport are just good, fun people,” Carter said. “It’s just a great atmosphere.”

PHS Volleyball has only two more regular-season games before they head to Pinedale to play in the Regional Tournament. On Oct. 21, they head to Cody to face the Phillies at home. On Oct. 23, they make their way to Lovell for their final regular-season matchup against the Lady Bulldogs.

PHS Cross Country has left nothing to be desired this season, with athletes smashing personal records and junior Karee Cooley running the fifth fastest time in the state this year. The 3A West Conference meet was cancelled due to weather, but the Panthers are preparing for the State meet, which is to take place on Oct. 25.

“Having a good team allowed me to stay active in the sport,” Cooley said. “The team stays together and keeps me motivated.”

The Panthers lose a handful of seniors in the class of 2026, but they will maintain a strong connection and dominant team while going into the next season.

“I’m looking forward to new runners, but not looking forward to losing some of the seniors,” Cooley said. “To allow an even better season next year, we need to make sure the team stays as a good group.”
