Senior Meisja McCrary showcases her leadership and communication skills within the many different clubs and associations in and out of PHS. Being a senior hasn’t dimmed McCrary’s optimism for her future success, but what are her anticipations?
Question: What activities, such as clubs or sports, are you involved in at PHS?
Answer: I am involved in NHS, FFA, SkillsUSA, Panther Strong, and Soccer.
Q: What activities are you involved in outside of PHS?
A: Outside of high school, I enjoy spending quality time with my family. As a family, we regularly play yard games if the weather permits and board/card games when it doesn’t.
Q: What type of work do you think you will do after high school?
A: After high school, I intend to continue working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). I also plan to continue working many different odd jobs on the side, just as I have done during my high school career.
Q: Why do you think you will do this type of work?
A: I find this job to be very rewarding, and it is a great way for me to get my foot in the door for the healthcare field.
Q: What goals have you set for yourself that you’ve achieved?
A: Within my high school career, I have accomplished my goal of becoming an FFA, NHS, and SkillsUSA chapter officer.
Q: How do you think this will prepare you for life after high school?
A: These positions have given me a chance to strengthen my interpersonal skills. And as you can imagine, balancing my time strengthened my soft skills- specifically my time management and organization skills.
Q: Will you be going to college or to a trade school?
A: I plan to attend college in the fall in order to eventually become a registered nurse.
Q: What college/trade school will you be going to?
A: I’m currently leaning towards Northwest, but my decision has not yet been finalized. I’m just waiting on a few things to line up before I make my final decision.
Q: Why did you choose this college/trade school?
A: Northwest offers a great nursing program at an affordable cost, which appeals to me.
As future opportunities present themselves, there is no doubt that McCrary will make the most of these positions.
