We all have been wondering it. We all question it. What is with the sudden growth of hair in boys? Is it a fashion trend? Does it have a deeper meaning? No one seems to know, but some do…

“The main look in Powell High School is like cowboy boots, cowboy clothes and I don’t know, I wanted to be unique,” senior Jacob Harrison said.

One, of the seemingly many boys who have long hair added: “I wanted to try a new style and be unique,” senior Colton Johannsen said.

“I felt like I didn’t want to just look like every other guy, you know like the buzz cut or the comb over look, I guess I got tired of that. So I figured why not have your own personality, kind of be unique,” senior Jacob Harrison said.

While this doesn’t have any deeper meaning it still speaks some truth about today’s society.

It is changing.

But this still doesn’t tell us why this year there was a sudden surplus of boys at Powell High School with long hair. Because in case you haven’t noticed there is at least 6 or more boys running around with Thor-like hair. Strangely enough though, none of them planned it.

“It just kind of happened overtime,” senior Colton Johansson said.

“… everyone in our friend group just started growing their hair out,” senior Jacob Harrison said.

As a female, long hair is just annoying in general and hard to take care of it. These boys know what it feels like to be whipped in the face with hair on a windy day and they suffer in the heat as well. And like us, effeminately they like to take care of their hair.

“I use Bamboo shampoo and conditioner,” senior Jacob Harrison said. “I get my products from Ulta.”

While they take care of it like we do, they don’t have the same difficulties fixing their hair in the mornings and don’t have to deal with blow drying their hair.

“Yeah, I just run a brush through it and towel it off,” senior Colton Johannsen said. “I don’t need to curl it or straighten it or anything.”

Now we all know that this is possible with some hair types but most tend to go *poof*. These boys don’t seem to have the *poof* problem. Which is quite unfair, having the *poof* is not fun.

“We got lucky with the curly hair,” senior Colton Johannsen said.

So now the secret is out. We all know why the boys decided they wanted to look like Asgardians. It isn’t very special but it is still interesting to hear about. Even though some of the things they say about it make you question their machismo, these are still the boys who play for our football team, our basketball team and run in track. But it still leaves us all wondering…

“Can you even keep your man card after saying something like that?” Powell High School teacher Mr. Steven Lensegrav said.
