After a pause of cookie of the month, February returns with Valentine’s Day sugar cookies. 

Although usually associated with Christmas, sugar cookies are a great way to show love this February. 

Many people have nostalgic memories of the store-bought sugar cookies. A 10-pack of cakey goodness with picturesque pink frosting and colorful rainbow sprinkles. 

This February, enjoy an easy family recipe that replicates the famous cookie.

Ingredients:

 

  • 15.25 ounces of white or yellow cake mix (Perferably Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines)
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ Cup of room-temperature butter
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • More flour as needed

 

Directions: 

  • Preheat oven to 350° Fahrenheit. 
  • Mix ingredients, adding flour if necessary.
  • Roll out the dough to about ¼ inch. 
  • Use favorite cookie cutters to cut out the dough. 
  • Oil a cookie sheet for the cutouts. 
  • Bake cookies until done. They should be firm, but not browned. 
  • Place on wire cooling rack. 
  • Once cooled, frost with your favorite frosting, and don’t forget the sprinkles!
