Apple is a very well-known brand. Over 2.2 billion active users worldwide use Apple products, whether that be a watch, a phone, or a laptop. Over the past few years, Apple has been releasing new phones that many people have strong opinions about. 

Most students who attend Powell High School have iPhones or other types of Apple product. Some students, like senior Hali Hancock, don’t seem to like the new phones that are coming out. 

“I feel like Apple is making worse phones as the years go on,” Hancock said. “I like the older phones because they’re stronger. My old phone lasted me so long, and she is still thriving!”

Even though Hancock seems to have strong opinions about the new phones, other students don’t seem to mind the phones that are coming out. 

“I think that Apple has been making phones better,” sophomore JoseLuis Villanueva said. “I would honestly rather buy a new iPhone because of the new features.”

Apple launches new features with each update. This time, the iOS 26 update consists of clear apps, new notification sounds, and more. This year, lots of people didn’t quite like the new updates.

“It makes my phone die faster,” junior Ava Gilliatt said. “I also don’t like the looks of it; it doesn’t fit my phone’s aesthetic.” 

Even though Gilliatt deosn’t approve, others find it quite fascinating and prefer it more than the other updates.  

“I like the new update,” Villanueva said. “I don’t know why people don’t like it; there’s nothing bad to say about it.” 

It’s safe to say that there are many opinions on Apple and on whether or not they should continue to make new upgrades or if they should stick to the same phones and make other products.
