Pumpkin-spice overload this time of year
More stories from Marie Ramier
Pumpkin spice: a fall favorite. People anticipate the arrival of their Starbucks pumpkin spice latte. But, there are some pumpkin products which are way overrated and you should stay away from, including:
- Pumpkin spice butter. You probably are eating this on a pumpkin spice bagel. You seriously don’t need pumpkin butter too.
- Pumpkin Spice Frosted Mini Wheats and Pumpkin Spice Cheerios or any pumpkin spice cereal is useless. You eat pumpkin every meal of the day, so pumpkin breakfast is unnecessary.
- Pumpkin Salsa. I give up. Please don’t even think of eating this with pumpkin tortilla chips.
- Pumpkin spice Pringles. There are 33 other flavors so pick something different.
- Pumpkin spice dog treats. Dogs would rather have Milk bones and they don’t care what season it is.
- Pumpkin spice beef jerky. You eat it for the jerky flavor.
- Pumpkin spice pasta sauce. Do I even have to explain?
- Pumpkin spice hummus. Hummus is gross to begin with.
- Pumpkin spice bleach. Now you clothes can be pumpkin spice if breakfast, lunch, and dinner are not enough.
- Pumpkin spice chicken sausage. What even is chicken sausage?
Pumpkin spice has gone way too far. Most of the products don’t even have pumpkin in them. Fall may be your favorite time of the year with new fashion and football, but not everything should be pumpkin spice.
If you know when Starbucks’ pumpkin spice lattes come out and not your friend’s birthday, there are some things you need to rethink.

I’m kind of a fan of pumpkin spice, but a big AMEN on the hummus! Thanks for the smile!
