The Prowl

Melissa Merritt

Melissa Merritt, Prowl Reporter

Melissa Merritt is a PHS sophomore who loves life, but you usually can’t tell because she doesn’t show emotion. She spends way too much time developing her useless talents, such as uni-cycling, juggling, and playing the accordion. During after school hours, you will find her at cross country or track practice, whining about the workout, goofing-off, or trying to do anything but run. The art of complaining comes naturally to Melissa, which comes in handy when she’s faced with anything that requires any effort.

Her quiet demeanor doesn’t leave a lot of room for her personality to shine through, but once you get to know her, you’ll probably wish you wouldn’t have. The stark difference between the way she acts at school and outside of school can be quite jarring if you’re not prepared for it. At home she is constantly dancing, obnoxiously singing, or laughing at her own jokes. She has a knack for rambling off lines from movies or sketch comedy, but it’s usually out of context so no one really understands. Despite the fact that she firmly believes that boys have cooties, she loves cheesy holiday chick flicks.

“If you need someone to tell you that you should be better without actually telling you, just look at her face.” sophomore Nyah Johnson said.
