While 2017 is over it seemed to consist of many good movies. Now that 2018 is finally here, it is time for newer and greater movies to be released.

This year’s movies of all genres are being released. Here are the most anticipated movies of 2018:

 

Action

12 Strong

Based on a true event of the army’s special forces, Green Berets, who had within weeks responded to the 9/11 attacks, was deployed to Afghanistan. To take down the Taliban the team, their new captain must work with an Afghan.

Tomb Raider

Based on Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider games, Lara, who is the hard-core character of the original games, is brought to life. You’ll see her journey during her first expedition which takes her through terrible weather conditions and villainous men.

A Quiet Place

A family lives in isolation and silence to prevent attracting an unknown supernatural evil who will attack at any noise. They live their lives avoiding sound and communicating through sign language.

Heiress to the Winchester Repeating Arms Company fortune, Sarah Winchester calls an architect after discovering something weird in her neighborhood. The Incredibles 2

Starting right off after the first film, the Parr family struggles to keep their superpowers hidden and going back to a normal life. Bob Parr, aka Mr. Incredible, is a new stay-at-home dad. He takes care of Jack-Jack and discovers his secret powers. Meanwhile Helen Parr, aka Mrs. Incredible, is out fighting crime. No matter how much they all attempt to obtain a normal life they, with a family friend Frozone, will have to battle a new villain.

Fantasy:

Avengers: Infinity War

The Avengers must be willing to sacrifice it all to try and defeat Thanos before he puts an end to the universe. Many characters from past Marvel Cinematic Universe films will appear in the movie as the Avengers team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy. They will try to prevent Thanos from collecting the Infinity Stones, which are stones that were created before the Big Bang and holds within six distinguishing traits.

A Wrinkle In Time

Another Sci-Fi/Fantasy directed by Ava DuVernay. Based on a fantasy novel by Madeleine L’Engle, the movie follows Meg Murry and her younger brother. They head on a journey to a far away planet to save their astrophysicist father who was held prisoner. Follow them along their mind blowing adventures through space and time.

Mary Poppins Returns

A family whose joy and wonder has gone missing after having a personal loss are visited by the enigmatic Mary Poppins. With the help of Mary and her friend Jack, they help Jane and Michael Banks along with his children recover their joy.

Fantastic Beast: The Crimes of Grindelwald

After Grindelwald escapes custody and has gathered followers, he plans to raise pureblood wizards up to rule over all muggles (non-magical beings). To try and stop Grindelwalds plan Albus Dumbledore enlists his former student Newt Scamander. Love and loyalty are tested even among the truest friends and family in the dividing, wizarding world.

Annihilation

Sci-Fi fans, this movie may be the most anticipated movie of the year as Alex Garland brings Jeff VanDerMeer’s Southern Reach trilogy to life. Starring Natalie Portman as a biologist leading an expedition to the place on earth where natures rules doesn’t apply any longer, Area X, where her husband played by Oscar Isaac has gone missing. After many attempts at doing so, many ended in shootouts, mass suicides and cancer. Hopefully this time goes well. Fingers crossed, the 12th time’s a charm.

Ant-Man and The Wasp

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
