The Bowl For Kids’ Sake fundraiser gives back to the community’s youth.

Community members have come together to raise money for Park County’s Big Brothers/Big Sisters chapter.

Each team raises money during the event and the money raised goes back to the youth in the program.

“Bowl For Kids’ Sake is our signature fundraiser that raises a portion of our overall budget for Park County,” said Ms. Jennifer Just said, program director for Park County. “It involves community members as an active part of the fundraising process. One hundred percent of the money raised goes directly toward supporting children in our community.”

Community members can form teams of 4-6 people.

“We have 20 teams this year in 2019,” Ms. Just said. “This is the highest number of teams we have had in Park County in recent years.”

And everybody volunteers in a different way.

“I wanted to help out because volunteering is my favorite thing to do,” junior Natalie Dillivan said. “My church (St. John’s Episcopal) is also a large supporter of Big Brothers/Big Sisters. A member of my church volunteered me for the job, as I am an avid member of my church and I do different volunteer activities with them quite often.

“I’m really excited to be helping out with the event and I love to bowl so it should be a really successful event,” Dillivan said.

Team captains Dillivan and Powell resident Mr. Edward Goffaux are each in charge of forming a team.

“I’ve been on a team and participating in the event for over fifteen years,” Mr. Goffaux said. “I know it’s for a cause and love to give back to the community.
