Keeping track of assignments is an organized fashion is a good way to ensure academic success.

School has started, which means students are busier than ever with sports and homework. Most students don’t know how to manage their time properly to keep up their grades and their performance in athletics. So here are a few tips to help you stay on track:

  1. Turn off social media when working on homework. Students get distracted from their homework when they see a Snapchat or begin scrolling through Instagram.
  2. Use a calendar for organization. Write down where you need to be and at what time as soon as you learn the information. Also, write down assignments and when they are due as soon as you get them.
  3. Plan ahead for long-term assignments. If you have five days to complete 25 questions, answer five questions each night. When you know there is an assignment due next week, spread out the work so you don’t forget about it until the night before.
  4. If you miss school because you will be gone for a game, try to get your homework before you leave. It is much easier to do homework in your downtime at the game. If you wait until you get back, you will have that homework to do, as well as the upcoming homework for that week.
  5. Make a to-do list. As you go throughout the day write down everything you need to do. If you finish all of it, allow yourself to do something fun. Maybe you can spend some extra time on social media or take some time to relax.
